So I am sending resume's to colleges by snail mail, and I want to have all the appropriate info listed on the top of the resume so that they can match it to my application folder.

So far I have my name, address, commonapp I.D. and phone number.

Should I put my social security number as well? Anything else that I might add to it??

Thanks!!

That should be enough. Even if you have a very common name like John Smith, it’s highly unlikely that two John Smiths with your address are applying to the same college this year.

Colleges seem to like using social security numbers, but you really shouldn’t give that out any more than necessary.

If you feel you need something more to identify you, you could add your date of birth.

Many colleges ask applicants to include their high school name and date of birth. I wouldn’t give out my SSN.

Whenever I’m in contact with colleges, they always want my date of birth. When my mom tried to contact them and didn’t put that in, they called it a phishing scam, so definitely put in DOB.
