I have been talkin to a lot of people lately about what a good topic for college essays is...and i haven't really gotten a solid response from anyone...anybody have any ideas or have anything to say about this...considering that a chunk of our acceptance into any school is based on our topic...=/

I don’t think the topic really matters that much. What matters in the essay is what you’re saying in your essay. You can write a good personal essay on pretty much any topic. It’s not like writing about one topic will help you get into college more than writing about another.

I get what you mean…and that’s what i thought first too…but if you take a topic that is so overdone, no matter how well it is written, I heard that most admissions ppl don’t care much for it…even if it is genuine…so wat are the taboo topics of bad choices when writing an essay is my q…

If you’re into subtle humour, you can mock and satirize the cliche topics in a typical college essay roast essay. That sounds kinda fun.

But seriously, pick any topic. Good writers will be succesful with them. Poor writers make these topics cliche.
