What is a relatively competitive high school GPA for Barnard? (unweighted, on the 0-100 point scale)

Bummpppppp

The above link will take you to the 2011-2012 Barnard Common Data set. There you will find lots of info and statistics pertaining to graduation rates, admissions, etc.

A few pieces of info which might shed some light on your specific question:

–Barnard considers GPA and class rank to be VERY IMPORTANT in admissions considerations, and

–84% of admitted students were in the top tenth of their HS graduating class; 99% were in the top 25% of their class;

–63.10% had a GPA of 3.75 and higher (that is the highest GPA figure they quote percentages for);

–Barnard does consider the rigor of the school attended.

I don’t think anyone here can give you a number above which you could be considered “relatively competitive”. We don’t know how competitive your HS is, how rigorous your course load is, what your class rank is, etc. You just need to do your best, take classes which are challenging and interesting, do your best and see what happens…

Hope that helps some…

Best to you!

I’ve heard that Barnard expects an A- average or so (UW) if you’re coming from an average-quality high school.
