Thanks for the responses. To answer your questions, I have no budget. I would be interested in Catholic schools. And yes, I am interested in greek life… but I want an inclusive greek system.
If you are willing to expand beyond the NE one school that comes to mind that has not been mentioned is the University of Dayton. Doesn’t meet all of your requirements, but many.
I’ll add to your list, @collegecurious49. I grew up in Boston and lots of friends went to catholic colleges.
So your list of preferences: NE. Catholic school. Beautiful setting. Based on your stats above, here are some suggestions:
St. Michaels College near Burlington, VT; know several people from my HS who went here. Sporty and social people.
UVM (not catholic, but great school)
Merrimack College outside Boston; i know many people who went here. All are FUN people to be with.
Seton Hall in NJ; former bball legend; kept sending my D recruitment letters this year.
College of Holy Cross (a reach for you); academic but warm, friendly and committed people. smart people school.
Providence College; Bball and RI is all I know…
St. Anslem’s College in NH, near Manchester. I think an ex-boyfriend went there… social and practical.(the school, not my ex-boyfriend)
Catholic Univ in DC
Salve Regina in Providence; my D’s friend goes here and likes it.
UNH. Not catholic, but many kids from my town outside Boston went here. It’s social, but a lower-key vibe flagship state uni. Has greeks.
Syracuse. Not the greatest city, but the campus is nice. Solid school, with some world-class depts (Broadcast Commun, Commercial Art, business, and a few others). Big on greeks.
(For us old timers, I just realized that I’ve listed several of the former Big East Bball League… God how I miss 'em!)
FYI: If you go to any schools in the NE, there’s the Newman’s Club at most schools – it’s the catholic club/organization for students on campus. So even if you don’t end up at a Catholic college, you can meet like-minded student at the Newman Club/Organization.
Hope this helps you, @collegecurious49!
Could you tell me more about Salve? @proudmama2016
No judgment from me
I can tell you about Texas. It’s not the Northeast, but you might like it. Texas State is a nice rigorous school that’s right on the San Marcos river, which is the ultimate hot weather hangout. (Cute guys in swimsuits) It’s 30 minutes from Austin and 45 minutes from San Antonio. Campus is really really nice and the students are really nice too.
