What is a "Ventures Scholar"?

Hi guys, I received a fee waiver for a “Ventures Scholar” program at NW and wanted to know what thag was. I emailed admissions and they said they would get back to be but no response has been forthcoming so #:-S

Does anyone also happen to know if this program would interfere with NROTC? I would really like to NOT have NW removed from my list of potential colleges if I apply as a ventures scholar, whatever that is.

If you haven’t heard back from the admissions office via email yet, you should call them. You’d get a response much quicker that way. I know that calling people sucks (I agree there), but still, if you want an answer, it’s fast.

did u visit northwestern

@thatrunnerkid Admissions reached out to me already, I just can’t delete the thread
@jaecha Yes I have

@beepybeetle
Did you get a response? I’m curious about this as well since I also received a letter about it.

Go on the website.

My three kids received this “award”. I forgot a lot about this.

If you qualify, you can print out a certificate.

It shouldn’t interfere with your ROTC info.

I asked them and they didn’t actually tell me much about it… as mentioned previously, it’s mainly for URMs/1st generation, so I’m not even sure why I got it because I’m an asian male, with two parents that are PhDs… but my receipt of the waiver was not a mistake, according to the admissions officer I emailed anyways.
