What is an extracurricular essay supposed to look like?

<p>We have 1000 characters maximum to elaborate on an activity.</p>

<p>I wrote my essay but it is very... objective. (Something along the lines of "this is what I participated in, this is what I did, these are the awards I've won, etc.")</p>

<p>Is an extracurricular essay supposed to look like this, or is it supposed to be a more flowery essay, like the regular CommonApp essay?</p>

<p>It should reflect the activity’s signifance to you - what you learnt from it, what you are taking away from it, maybe any difficulties you had and how you overcame them…The essay should reflect who you are as a person because of the activity</p>
