<p>Rice's "Interim Decision" is effectively a form of EA, but a little later than most schools' EA programs. They have an ED round, then ID, which is non-binding, then RD. You can certainly apply ID to Rice and EA to other schools. You may not be able to apply ID to Rice if you are applying to a single-choice EA school; on the other hand, you might be able to, since you may get your SCEA answer before the Rice ID deadline. If you are applying to a SCEA school, you should probably check with their admission office.</p>
