I'm applying to Tisch for TV and Film Production this coming fall and I'm incredibly nervous that I don't fit the criteria.
I'm currently a senior at a private Catholic high school in NYC. My high school considers itself to be pretty prestigious and rigorous in its courses (even the non AP courses are apparently more "rigorous" than most schools), however, I'm not exactly sure to what extent.

My weighted GPA is a 3.7. In my Junior Year I was in AP English Literature and a College Sociology class. This year I am taking College Law, College Anatomy, and AP English Language. I am in the National Honors Society and was awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award my freshman year.

A brief H.S resume:
-three jobs (lifeguarding, tutoring first graders in reading, and working a snack stand at a baseball field)
-Varsity Swim Team
-playing piano/performing in a band
-Habitat for Humanity
-college courses at The School of Visual Arts and NYU
-volunteer with Special Olympics

I don't know if legacy is taken into consideration, but I have a tremendous amount of relatives who have gone and graduated from NYU. My mom, my sister, my cousin, my uncle, and even my dad (although he didn't get a degree) have all gone to NYU. I even have an uncle who works there.

Unfortunately, though, my standardized test scores are pretty bleak. I've decided to stick with the ACT. When I took it in June I got a 25, however, I took prep over the summer and I'm hoping that this time around I'll get at least a 27. I've made a film and have already started answering the essays required in my portfolio. Writing is my strongest asset, so I'm hoping it will make up for anything I've lost in the application academically.

Thanks!
