I am going to apply ND as bio major

So...
few things that i am worring about are
low GPA, No clubs or sports, and no awards

what do u guys think about this stat
would i make ND as early Action?
Also what is the most important thing that I should do to get into BC as early action?
I want your HONEST answer~

thx alotz

hey. i got into nd early action this year so i'll tell you what i know. first of all they say they are really conservative, but after talking a lot on the admitted students forum and looking at people scores its not as conservative as i thought it would be. also, i think legacy plays a big role in who they accept early. my stats: sat 1520 sat2 800/770/730 rank 1/500 gpa unweighted 4.0 weighted 4.45 ex: track/xc, piano, tutor, a little community service

i'll be totally honest
your grades are ok, i would guess kind of the lower end of the nd (and bc, since you were asking about that) scale, but still decent. your sats will be fine if you can definitely get about 2100.
even though nd accepts so many athletic kids i think its just cause thats they type that apply there. i dont think you have to worry about not having a sport or awards. you're ex. curriculars seem really really great. the volunteering and internship are totally awesome adn i think they will reallly help you out.
i think you've got a good shot, work real hard this semeseter. good luck

thank you so much about your comments
learned alot~
=)

To be completely honest, the only thing right now that may help you is your SAT scores, essay and teacher recs. ND is known to look at school grades and ranking more than just SAT scores. Extracurricular activities are also a must as well as participation in school activities.

If you're starting a club in your senior year because its for college, I wouldn't recommend doing that unless its something that is important to you. It seems like your science and math marks are pretty good. Some things you should keep in mind. Be absolutely sure that the one teacher you ask to write a recommendation, will write a solid one. I would say either a math or science teacher. You may also want to send in a performance of some sort for your activities for cello. Orchestra at ND may be an option so I would contact the director for that.

Hope everything works out! Good luck with your SATs

I agree with vita024.
I researched (and applied rd, still waiting) ND
A critical factor that I could tell from their chat room (on their own website) was class rank!
They prefer that you are in top 2-3% (and around 1450 old SAT) if you were applying ED to be competitive.
