What is my shot with Dingledine?

<p>Hi, JMU is my number one school and I am really hoping to get into the Dingledine program, so if anyone could tell me if I have a shot that would be wonderful :)</p>

<p>I am applying out of state and technically fulfill all the academic requirements for the program:
3.6/3.7 unweighted gpa, 4.0 weighted
1910 three part SAT 1250 two part
29 on ACT</p>

<p>AP classes/scores:
Psych (sophomore): 4
Physics (junior): 2 I know its bad
Composition (junior): 4
US History (junior) 4
Art (junior/senior) didn't take the exam yet
Economics (senior)
Government (senior)
Calculus (senior)
Biology (senior)
Literature (senior)</p>

<p>School Involvement:
Key Club (4 years, treasurer sophomore, president junior and senior)
Model UN (3 years, President junior and senior)
National Honor Society (1 year, you're only allowed to do it senior year in my school, historian)
Astronomical Society (3 years, co-founder)
Student Government (1 year, publicist)</p>

<p>Outside Involvement:
Volunteer at the Long Island Maritime Museum (4 years)
Junior Coordinator at Wet Pants Sailing Association (2 years)
Internship on the re-election campaign for the New York State Attorney General (1 year)</p>

<p>Awards:
Recognized in New York State for dedication to the success of local blood drives
Recognized for successfully running two Blood Drives to break records previously held for a decade in my district in one year</p>

<p>We don't get recognized by our schools until the end of senior year so if there are any more I don't know them yet </p>

<p>Desired Major:
Political Science </p>

<p>I am absolutely in love with the school, especially what I have heard about the Dingledine program. If anyone has any advice or knowledge please tell me!!! :)</p>

<p>Sorry, I have no information on what the stats were for students actually receiving the Dingledine Scholarship in previous years. Maybe contact JMU to see if they can provide this informaiton to see how competitive you are? What is the Dingledine “program”? I only see information on a scholarship…Your other stats are very similar to my son who is currently a Freshman at JMU. Best of luck.</p>

<p>From what I have been told, it is basically a scholarship that includes a mentoring program throughout your experience on JMU and really centers itself around involvement in the community…sorry, I was a bit unclear! Thank you so much for replying though!</p>

<p>Sounds cool. I did notice that you need to apply ED to “qualify” for this scholarship. Not sure if you noticed that, so wanted to pass it along.</p>
