and by princeton, i mean the town... i know the school is what it is, but what is the environment like in the surrounding area?

Princeton is very ubscale suburbia. Not every house looks the same, and many are very old, including a district of beautiful sprawling mansions. It's a quiet town with a lot of culture, and decent town/gown relations due the the upper-middle class residency which includes many business commuters to NYC who have families. There is also a significant minority population in the John Street area, adding a lot of black and hispanic culture to the mix. The town itself is fairly quiet at night, shutting down, with the exception of a couple bars/clubs/restaurants, by 11-12pm on weekends. It's a shopping destination, with lots of high-end and artsy shops in the downtown "palmer square" area, and unlike some other college towns, would exist without the university.

Anything more specific?

Is there any snow in the winter? WA is horribly lacking any snow (though we got rain).

There was snow all over the ground, but we moved a lot of it to make the jump onto the rail.
