it's about living in a mcmansion and having a perfectly sculpted lawn. and playing golf.

sorry dualityim... you're right, is rather hard to tell sarcasm in typing at some points in time. have become rather defensive after the conservative and republican thread appeared, and those ppl started posting on the liberal and democrat thread.

Unfortunately, the American Dream is materialistic.

The DREAM isn't materialistic; Americans are.

land=money, like JimmyEatWorld said. But the dream has never been to have TONS of land, it's about having the security to live comfortably. It hasn't been very long that people aspired to be superwealthy and powerful.

To become filthy rich because of nothing else but your own hard work in our beautiful Capitalist system. sniff Me <3 America.

It's probably everything that people have said.

Some people probably think it's getting rich, and others think it's being free.

It's not like there's one objective answer to the question.

i wrote my college essay on how the american dream doesn't really exist any more

Yes, American Dream Abroad can be interpreted in many ways. Knowledgeable good friends posted the previous posts and they are very interesting. American Dream can achieved abroad also like us by doing medicine in some other country like India with the least amount of money and time and coming back to America. We did this thru American Dream Abroad. com. In America doing medicine is a miracle. You need BS degree with GPA 4 out of 4 and MCAT score 34 or above- a ton of money (eg. my rich friend had to spend for Stanford Univ- BS + Medicine = >$700,000.) I spent $50,000 for all my medicine years abroad. I went thru a company called American Dream Abroad . com. I made my American Dream real. This is another way of achieving American Dream.

:O JimmyEatWorld has already graduated college??
