what is the best homeschool to go to and please leave me the site link below because i am leaving my old homeschool to go to a new homeschool soon
I think that will depend on your state.
@LKnomad i live in Pennsylvania
Then someone from Pennsylvania will probably need to chime in. Each state has their own rule and regulations and options. I am from CA so I don’t know much about your side of the country.
ok thank u @LKnomad
Your question made no sense to me bc in my mind my children could ask which “school” to go to" bc our home is the location where our children are educated. I am their teacher and I decide what subjects they study and what materials they use.
In order to understand what you were really asking, I looked at your post history. You attend Agora k12, correct? Agora is a public school charter. You are a public school student completing assignments at home. If you withdraw from Agora, you need to make sure you follow PA law for notifying authorities that you will be homeschooling or you will be considered truant.
I am unfamiliar with PA laws. I think in PA you have to submit portfolios of work completed, etc. You need to be familiar with the laws. HSLDA’s website has summaries. PA Homeschoolers offers online classes that my kids have taken. I am sure they have PA law info, as well. (Their AP chem class is fabulous.)
There are numerous providers you can look into for homeschooling support. Oak Meadow offers pre-fab courses (meaning they have the books with lesson plans, tests, etc already packaged for purpose.) AoPS is a good source for math. Blue Tent offers English and biology classes. Well-trainedmind Academy offers a few different classes.
Like I said, I do not know PA law, so you need to understand it first and foremost. You might find you can put together your class choices through Coursera, MIT Opencourseware, plus a mixture of other sources. BUT, you are going to need a parent involved in your education if you are no longer a ps student. Otherwise, what you are really asking is what other public school online charters are there.
ok
Look up Laurel Springs online. My kids are attending. It’s very good, but not cheap. School has offices both in CA and PA. My kids are graduating 2 years earlier, one can save half of the cost by doing this. Talk to them or attend one of their info web session.
