Hey all,
I am a senior digital media undergrad student and i am almost done with school, all i need is a internship. While originally i went to school in Tennessee i came across a opportunity to move to Los Angeles. I felt like this was a pretty good opportunity to take considering my major. The down side of this is that i don’t really have any contacts down here so i’m kind of on my own when looking for a internship. I have a list of company that i would love to intern for (i want to get into audio post production for television) but i don’t really know the best way to approach them. What would be the best way to ask/request a internship? I’ve sent out cold emails to companies in the past and that doesn’t seem to be a very effective step (usually i’ll just get something that seems like a automated response, or more likely no response at all). I also tried cold calling one company to no avail (i’m not the most confident person on the phone). Are walk-ins acceptable? I have my resume and am working on getting a couple letters of recommendations from professors and former employers. Any information on the subject would be helpful.
thanks.
Hi tedward_2, I can definitely understand the difficulties of finding an internship. One tool I used was TalFuse.com. You just answer some questions about yourself and they will put your profile in front of startups and other tech companies. The companies will then contact you if they are interested. Worked out well for me! Best of luck
