I have a 29, and a 3.7 GPA. I’m a recruited athlete if that helps any. Should I submit? I’m in loads of extracurricular activities too. Also, I’m a male from the rural midwest. Should I submit if I apply ED1?
I believe that the person best able to answer your question is the coach who is recruiting you. Do not be afraid to ask the coach questions. For example:
Are my test scores and GPA in the range of those for the recruits that were accepted last year?
Will you support my application in the admissions process?
Will I only get support if I apply ED1?
Last year how many athletes did you support for admission and how many were actually accepted?
Before some of those questions you can ask if the coach holds overnight visits for recruiting purposes in the fall and if you will be invited.
When asking for admissions support it may be easier to get the coach to answer those types of questions if he or she knows that Wesleyan is one of the top or at the top of the list of schools you are considering. You may not know this at this time, but when you do I recommend letting the coach know. Good luck!
Thank you, this is very helpful.
Also, as of this past admission cycle for the class of 2019, Wesleyan is test-optional! Which means that you can opt out of submitting your test scores if you feel they will hinder your chances at admission to Wes.
