My two top choices for schools are Suffolk and Siena. I want to be a social studies teacher in middle school. Siena offers a certificate which was described to me as "like a major" while Suffolk offers a minor in middle school education. I want to go to graduate school afterwards too. So what is the difference and which program would be best?

I think you are going to need to get the teaching certificate no matter what program you attend. Maybe the education minor will offer you more theory of learning-type courses, as opposed to just getting the history major classes.
