as stated above. I read on UNC's website that you need to have a CSS profile in order to be considered for university scholarships is this true of all schools!? Isn't there some sort of fee involved?
thank you

Not all schools require the profile; many private schools do. You fill it out through College Board, and of course College Board does charge. It is a more extensive look at your parents/your finanical situation and it takes into account assets, like your home, retirement accounts etc. Some private schools ask you to only fill it out once, others every year; and yes you pay each year.

The CSS profile is used by schools that implement an institutional methodology in disbursing financial aid. THe cost of filing the CSS profile is $23. However, if you put in your information, the college board will deem as to whether or not you are considered low income and will waive the fee.

thanx guys =)
