What is the income base for cal grant... AGI OR W2?

<p>My AGI is under 80k year 2012 since I took from salary to 401k account.
Which amount it could be considered as my income? (AGI or w2-box5 total?)
Actually we got disqualified for cal grant becuase total income from work was over 90k.</p>
