What is the reputation of these florida colleges?

Im from NJ but i am planning to go to college in florida. What is the reputation of these colleges?
Florida Atlantic University
University of South Florida
University of North Florida
Florida Gulf Coast University

I don’t know exactly what you’re looking for, but I can tell you Florida Gulf Coast is by far the easiest to get into, scores-wise, followed by FAU. USF’s got a stronger reputation than either of those two, overall. Someone else maybe could help you with where in the list North Florida would fall
Most of the state university system schools have acceptance rates in a similar range, it’s just a question of who’s applying there. You don’t see a lot of high-ambition IB valedictorians at FGCU or FAU. You do get kids who aren’t likely to go to Gainesville or Tallahassee, for whatever reason.
You’d have to look at each one to see what areas their strengths are in. I know a couple of kids at USF who are very happy with their chem eng program.

Have you run the Net Price Calculators on the schools’ web sites to see if your parents can afford those out of state schools?

Who cares if they can afford them? Its called loans.

For all you know about gentility, OP, you don’t know anything about college loans. You can only borrow $5500 your first year, $27K for four years. There are no 4yr colleges in Florida where you can go to school for that kind of money.

Financial aid…

OOS tuition runs from $17+K (at FAU and USF) to over $25K (FGCU) a year. Add another $10+K for books, room and board, and you’re looking at $27+K a year.

Some of these schools offer merit scholarships, and OOS tuition waivers, hence why we recommend you run the net price calculators. Then you should check out what scholarships are available.

^^You need to research that very topic. Don’t know about these schools, but checking out Gulf Coast it looks like OOS student will pay around 33,000 year. Seriously doubt you’ll get that much need based financial aid. You definitely need to run NPC as someone suggested and look at admissions info to see if you qualify for any merit aid.

Why Florida?

Because i like the weather in florida.

I figured. I just had to hear it.

Have a look at Florida A&M. It has a nursing program and offers many different merit aid programs, at least some of which you will qualify for if the GPA and SAT you gave in another thread are correct.

In addition, if you do intend to pursue nursing, then a better question than asking the reputation of these others is to ask what is their reputation for nursing specifically.

Even more specifically, research what their pass rate is for the NCLEX-RN.

USF is the most reputable of the schools that you have listed. If you are able to get into USF, you should also look into UCF, which is on a similar level.
