Does anyone have an information about this school? I don't know much about it and will not likely get a chance to visit, but my college counselor suggested I should apply.

Yes, it's a wonderful school. The bayside areas of Maryland are absolutely stunning. I can't think of a better place to spend four years if you're not from the area and you want a rural undergrad experience. That leads me to the next point, which is that the school is rural. It's not far from Wal Mart or other basic necessities of life, but don't expect the glitz and glamour of a city. Watersports are big at the college, apparently. The ocean is a couple hours away by car because you have to drive north from St. Mary's to get to the bridge to cross the Chesapeake Bay. It's not far from Annapolis, Washington or Baltimore. An hour or so? I'm not sure.

As a public liberal arts college, the tuition is a top-notch deal. There aren't many public LACs, granted, but US News ranks St. Mary's as number two. I'm not sure how many there are, but for what it's worth, the statistic is there.

By the way, Bright Eyes <333333.

I'm actually going to visit on saturday. I'll post info. after I've seen it if you'd like. I go to high school and Maryland and my friends that have visited love it. Personally, I was deferred from William and Mary after applying ED, and am now thinking that St. Mary's if my first choice, because of the great price, small size, good academics, and scholarship opps.
