I’m a couple weeks late but I want to pipe in that, as a recent graduate, I’ve never heard of a single Tufts student heading to MIT for parties on a regular basis and I can’t recall anyone I know going even once. Sure, plenty of BU kids go but there’s plenty to do on, in Somerville, or in the closer parts of Cambridge. Tufts has a fairly active fraternity scene but the large number of upperclassmen living off campus lends itself to a fair amount of house parties on any given weekend. If someone were to bother to cross the river to go to parties (my understanding is that most of the MIT frats are on the Boston side) they might as well just go to Fanueil Hall, Back Bay, the Seaport, etc…

I’m a current Tufts student. People go to MIT for parties fairly often. Most people here have friends at MIT, so why wouldn’t they go hang out with them? On the other hand last weekend my roommate had a friend over from MIT and we went to a party here a Tufts. In a city with as many schools as Boston people do go to the other colleges to hang out sometimes.

Weird, I’ve never heard of anyone in my several friend groups doing that. Most of my close HS friends went to schools in New England outside of Boston so I occasionally went to parties at Bates, Dartmouth, UConn, Trinity, etc.

I was sort of thinking the same thing. While students from our high school have been accepted at MIT I can’t think of a single one that ended up going there. My son sees his high school friends on breaks but most of them aren’t in the Boston area.
