What is Wash. U.- St.Louis good for in terms of majors?

Yah the title says it all... mind telling me class sizes, social environment... what great programs they offer... research opportunities... etc

Well, I can tell you about some class sizes. Freshmen classes tend to be the biggest ones, because that's when most people take chemistry and other introductory courses (ex. psych). But other classes, like the required Writing 1, have less than 15, and I think that also applies to foreign languages. I came from a high school with really small classes, and this doesn't bother me at all. I mean, chemistry isn't a discussion based class, so it's not like you miss out on something by being in a big class. And they get smaller as you take higher level classes.

There are a ton of research opportunities. I don't know what else to say. They are everywhere. But you aren't encouraged as a first semester freshmen to start that early, because you should really focus on adjusting to college life before making a time commitment like that.

mmm... i havent heard anything about this university... except they are good in primary care division in their med school

Primary care? I mean it's definitely good (13th), but it's 3rd in research (behind Harvard and Hopkins).

genomics...

Whoops wrong university for primary care... That was University of Washington... yah st.louis has a good research thing... but im more into surgical medicine... hence JHU

JHU is big on the "research thing" as well- just like WUSTL it's not on the list of top schools for primary care.

From what I know it has a very good Biology program in all specialties. Other programs that are good psychology, art, chemistry, engineering (especially bio medical), and business, and there are other really good departments that I forget about. Just remember the pre med program is very competitive.
