2290 without any studying

2100 with studying…
does anyone know how to get to 2200+ from here?!?!
it seems i’ve read many tips and know many strategies as well as concepts…
is it just practice from here on out?

Yep just nonstop practice and revision of your mistakes. Your brain will start to pick up patterns that you may not even consciously recognize. For example, I used to struggle a lot in CR and after practicing a crap ton, certain answer choices would pop out to me and certain choices were easier to eliminate. Just for credibility I went from mid 600s to high 700s in CR.

I’m just gonna go ahead and point out .5 correlation between SAT score and College success is still very high.

Math: 760 I made a bubbling error, I know because I got the question answer service and the answer was a fraction but I bubbled in a 1 instead of the / on a grid in question. I don’t know how it happened but that is what the paper from CB said.
Writing: 650
Reading: 530, I’m not a very strong reader.
Total: 1940
I took 3 BB practice tests and an SAT course over the summer before junior year.

Wow. Y’all are amazing ! I could never get over a 2,000. Well, not NEVER but I know I’m not dedicated enough to get over a 2,000 lol. I just want to get a little above average to get into CSU Fullerton. I hate tests and school to be honest. lol

The question about whether or not studying improves your score is flawed. People who ostensibly claim to have done well on the test but have never studied don’t understand that they have been passively studying for the SAT all throughout high school. The majority of the questions on the SAT test, often indirectly, your previous exposure to the material, namely the vocab questions, some of the math terms, and arguably the grammar rules (because American English has become corrupted by colloquialisms and slang).
Students who have challenged themselves by taking AP courses and reading books throughout high school will already be familiar with many of the items tested on the SAT and will therefore have to study less. On the other hand, less academically motivated kids will need to refresh their knowledge of these concepts by studying.
This is evidenced by the improvements of students who have taken the test again after studying. The score increases that we see are often too great to be accounted for by simply learning how to “cheat” the test. This however is often not the case with IQ tests, which are universally accepted measures of aptitude, for which studying has less of an effect. I should mention that most of this evidence is anecdotal.

2070 after ten practice tests.

800CR/660MATH.

SO LOPSIDED GRRRR.

I did study. And I will study for attempt number two.

2020 no studying whatsoever
i’ll do better next time.

I’m looking at everyone’s SAT scores on here and i’m not proud about mine. Mine is probably the lowest on here ):.

Math112358 is right, I got a 2090 on my first sat in January then a 2270 in may without studying. However, I believe that just being forced to read and write in an English class caused my score to go up immensely.

My SAT was 2260 with a decent amount of studying (2 months, and on and off), but then my dad randomly signed me up to take the ACT’S without telling me till the day before, and I got a 35 cold. I guess it’s true that some people are better at one than the other. It’s definitely true for me.

2270 with tons of practice (710 CR/760 M/800 W/12 E)
2400 with bare minimum brush up
My junior year English class must have seriously done some magic for me because my second sitting was truly done on a whim. My mom had asked on the last day of the regular deadline whether I wanted to retake or not, and I distractedly had said yes while working on some school project. I went in having only done a few CR sections to warm myself back up. :D

Went from a 1380 to a 2170 with a lot of studying; CR score is still pretty low though

2400(Superscore)-

Math-HAHAHAHAHA.
CR-Used Direct Hits+ took AP Literature same year.
WR-Pay attention in English class. Had to only retake this one(others were 800).

2010 (it was my second time). I did a couple of practice tests, but can honestly say I didn’t study much otherwise.

CR 660
W 640
M 680

I’ll be taking them again in october after doing a Kaplan SAT, ACT, PSAT pret program

201 on PSATs, no study

32 Composite on ACT (E34, M30, S30, R34, W8)

2340 (with study).

800 Critical Reading
740 Math
800 Writing

2140 with some studying
