what job experience would help if I want to get into grad school for marketing?

Hi guys...
I am now a junior student in college. I am currently majoring in Economics and applying for the Journalism school for the degree of strategic communication(advertising/PR).
I am planning in going to grad school for MBA of Marketing after 3 years of work experience. However, I think with my degree, the best chance for me is going to a advertising agency or a PR firm. I wonder will this kind of job experience help me with the application for marketing? Do I have to work at a marketing position in order to lighten up my resume?
Also, since I want a job at an advertisement agency, do you guys think I should get interns for marketing or for advertisement? This really bothers me...
PS. I may try to apply for master of mess communication right after school..just in case I can't get a nice job. So I am really concerned about what kind of internship or activity experience I should get...Mess media or marketing????? Do you guys know any great grad school for advertising or mess media????
Thank you so much!! I am really appreciated!

I’m also a junior, however I’m majoring in Marketing. I’m planning on going into advertising after grad school, and from what I’ve seen, internships at agencies are critical to get into the field. I’ve personally interned at 2 agencies so far, and I still don’t feel comfortable about job prospects after school, unless of course I go to portfolio school… Both my parents have worked at top agencies, The Martin Agency and Wells Rich Green (before the collapse) respectively so I know what it takes to get a job at one… If you’re creative at all, which you should be, take a look at portfolio schools like the VCU Brand Center and Portfolio Center in Atlanta. 90% of students land jobs in top agencies out of portfolio school within months
