What laptop would be good for a physics major?

Hi, I am in my final year of high school, and will be going to. University in the fall. I am goING to be majoring in physics and currently need a laptop. What laptop would be best for my major In terms of;
1)software (windows, mac?)
2)durability and longevity?
3)security.

I am thinking of getting either the hip spectra x360, the Acer aspire s7 393 or the mac book pro.

Get a Lenovo bro those are crazy, my brother and i got one and they are so sick its ridiculous. I would advise getting a y series lenovo, and my sister has a macbook pro but she is majoring in biochem so she doesnt need the software that you might need, should stick with Windows to avoid any OS installing issues

@thegrant Thanks. The Lenovo y-series don’t normally have a great battery life. How’s the battery on your model?

i got like a y-40 and it lasts me around 6 hours on extreme power saver if im just typing an essay or looking up stupid videos on youtube lol

its also mad powerful and can handle any 3D applications like Rhino/3DS Max or anything that needs lots of polygons— oh and games run on it like butter

@thegrant I looked at a few reviews for the y-50. Seems pretty good for everyday tasks. I’ll check it out, thanks!

If you need a laptop, buy a Dell M3800, Lenovo T450s, or Lenovo W550s. All are relatively light, professional grade, durable computers.

@agupte the workstations are a tad expensive. But I’ll check them out, thanks (Y)
