What looks better: a paid or unpaid internship?

<p>I don’t think it makes a differences, if you get the chance, see if there’s a cooperative program where you work a semester at a company, those look pretty good on your resume.</p>

<p>Depends in many cases on the nature of the internship. Many fields offer paid internships, but in other instances – particularly non-profits – they are unpaid. And no less valuable. (for example: If you’re an art history major hoping to pursue a career in museums working as a curator and land an unpaid intership working with collections at a respected regional museum, that will further your goals considerably.) The fact that it’s unpaid is a non-issue.</p>

<p>Do a little research on the norms in the field that you’re interested in, and what the typical opportunities are.</p>

<p>what tends to matter the most is the experience and for some the name of the company. if you end up getting paid for just doing bs work, while at the not paid one you’re given more responsibility, the not paid one will look most valuable.</p>
