What made you choose Penn over other schools in the Ivy League and elsewhere?

Input from poli-sci and international relations majors especially preferred, though I’d like to hear input from everyone

Reasons my daughter chose Penn:

  1. Balance of academic structure and flexibility
  2. Rigorous, but with enough flexibility to take a reasonable number of electives
  3. Balance theory with practice and practical concerns
  4. One Penn policy allows taking classes in all schools 4 . Extra Curricular opportunities: research, clubs, and excellent sports facilities (esp. the pool)
  5. Social balance: students take time to maintain a social life
  6. Weather: Warmest of the Ivies
  7. Big city location in Philadelphia, and proximity to NYC
  8. Current student and alumni comments: they were very positive about their experiences at Penn
  9. Job placement and interview opportunities
  10. Felt comfortable and at home during her visits to Penn.
