what major are you in and why?

nuclear engineering.

At first I was a mechanical engineering major, then I switched to industrial engineering.

I wish my school offered nuclear engineering. It sounds really neat.

comp sci because of job prospects and pay. who knows, might end up changing it, might not.

Aerospace Engineering.

Civil engineering.

Back in high school, I had originally wanted to go into architecture, so naturally civil engineering would have been my next choice. The more I learned about the field, the more I felt that architecture wouldn't be as good as a fit as civE.

Why civE? Because I love buildings and construction. I like being out on the site seeing things go up for all to see and not sitting in an office the entire time. i also really like urban planning like anovice but im not pursuing that path for a career.

So as an architect, are you more likely to be working in the office all the time?

The reasons I decided not to go into architecture had nothing to do with the amount of field work, but rather my personal assessment of my talent. I explored the option, looked into some of the work, and felt that I just don't have the mindset for it. I can't really say if architects are in the office all the time or not.
