What major in CMU is very strong?

I applied and got in to SCS, CIT and MCS, but now i realize I don't know that much about CMU programs. What are some strong programs/majors in those schools? And please tell why too, thanks! (If would be helpful if you can include a possible career choice with the program)

I've heard SCS at CMU referred to as the best undergrad computer science program. I don't know how true that is though.

Just about everything CMU offers is top in its field. Examples: Engineering, CS, Business, Cognitive Psych, Creative Writing, the Sciences, Musical Theatre, Drama, Architecture, etc. (Sorry if I missed something).

If you are talking about the "strongest" then I would probably say CS.

CS is probably the strongest of all, then comes engineering i think. but contrary to what most people think, it is an extremely well rounded school.

Thanks for answering my question. When you say CS is it CS in general or specific areas or programs?

There is only one undergraduate major within SCS, which is a BS in CS. So for undergraduate, CMU is considered to be the best or at least tied for the best in CS in general.

SCS's particular strengths are more relevant to the graduate program. But if you're interested, CMU is the top school for robotics and artificial intelligence, and it's definitely among the best (top 4) for most other areas within CS.

I would not "rank" the schools at all. We can just agree that SCS is the "best" in its field and then it trickles down to the rest of the school.
