My daughter is good in math and science in the best high school. Recently she said she will apply williams college. I only know williams is number one college. I do not know what she can do there. we plan to visit it in the summer. I hope get some help

What is best major in williams?

What will the most of students in williams will do after college ?

You choose a college like Williams for the overall approach to education across a range of solid departments.

Williams is particularly noted for its art history department. Its Art History majors are strongly represented among the curators at the top museums in the United States.

Economics is the most popular major. Biology is also very popular. That is true at most selective colleges.

I'm the parent of a current student at Williams. The Math and Statistics Department is very strong, as are the Computer Science and pure sciences.

As I posted elsewhere earlier today: "Small in number compared to the departments with more majors, Williams students in such departments as Computer Science have gone on not only to top-ranked graduate programs but employment at companies like Microsoft and Intel as well."

Go to the college website at www.williams.edu and search the departments your daughter may be interested in. E-mail the professors/staff if you have additional questions. They are very willing and able to help, and offer firsthand information (unlike the opinions and dated "datapoints" others far removed from the campus may offer here).

Williams is one of the most preferred destinations (top 10 nationally, including the major universities) for those interested in math-science programs of study.

I hope you and your daughter enjoy her college-hunting trip.

Williams will offer your daughter the best education possible, no matter what major she chooses to study.
Also, the alumni network is fantastic. If she can get admitted into Williams, she will be a member of a very elite group.
That is one of many reasons Williams is the #1 LAC in the US.

Your challenge will be getting your D admitted into Williams.
Good luck!

Also, here is a link to a video about Williams that was produced to kick off (2003) the current Campaign for Williams, a major fundraising initiative now in its fourth year. It gives a good idea of what Williams is like on a day-to-day basis -- accompanied by music of some of the college's a cappella groups.
