What major/minor combination should I take for Investment Banking?

One of my potential career goals is to become an investment banker. I will most likely major in Finance at my university, but if I was to double major, which other subject should I choose? What about a minor?

Thank you!

Econ at an Ivy League school or study accounting at a school with a lot of alumni on Wall Street.

Accounting. It’s always useful in case you don’t make it to Wall St. immediately after graduation.

I would double major in an area that I can “fall back on” in case I don’t get recruited into investment banking. This could be a variety of areas, if you plan on staying in the business related sector well you have your Accounting related major, that’s the best business major in my book. If you plan on moving out of the business sector, you can take your pick, but Engineering might be the next best major outside of the business sector but handling a Finance and Engineering double degree program might be a little “too much” for one to handle ;).
