Law school = LSAT + GPA unfortunately. I'm interested in a major that will allow me to get a 3.9 or higher GPA. The +/- system is an unfortunate change.

I would love to do Chemical Engineering, but I think it would kill my chances at a top 5 law school. I was considering an international business BBA, but I'm unsure of the workload. So, what majors are the easiest to get a 3.9 or higher GPA?

It depends from person to person, on there taste in majors. If you like business, then you will do better then at Medicine. Or if you like Medicine, you will do better then at Business.

I’m looking forward to law school as well and decided to go with accounting. It’s a difficult major, but its worth the risk. If you choose a major thats worthless to get a 4.0, your depriving yourself 4 years of college. I don’t want to miss my chance at making a good living off an undergraduate degree if I decide not to go to law school. Another thing to think about is not getting a 3.6+ in a less challenging major. It will be devastating. But if you insist on taking the easy route, I would transfer to an easier university and major in political science, communications, or something that you know your good at.

I’m also planning on law school and i’m majoring in business, either finance or accounting - most likely finance. I also wondered which major would give me the highest GPA, but after thinking about it, I decided to go with a major that I find interesting and that would be a good backup option in case my plans for law school fall through. Whatever major you will enjoy the most should be the major you will succeed in academically. Just work your hardest in international business if you love it.

Engineering will be very tough and maintain a high gpa will be tough too, especially at UT. Liberal arts majors and Business majors will most likely be easier. An important thing to remember is that doing something you are interested in is important to keep a high gpa. If you enjoy the material, studying won’t be as bad.

@anhtimmy: What do you mean transfer to U of H? Its college and no matter where you go, it will be tough to keep a 4.0 unless if you’re majoring in textiles or something.

@USofPlutarchy Pretty funny how you assume every person at UT wants to major in business and the other schools at UT are just filled with mccombs rejects
