I'm a junior in HS right now and i have already finished AP Calc AB and i'm in BC Calc right now. My teacher recommended that i go to NCSU for Calc III and Differential Equations. My only problem for that is i will only get honors credit for taking a College class (makes no sense). Anyways i was wondering if Harvard would rather seem me take College classes or take two AP Classes instead of the maths. I would like to keep my #1 ranking so i can't really afford to take honors classes. If anyone has had any past experience or any opinions that would be great

Thanks

Are you interested in math? Does it factor into your EC's and major choice? If so, then take the college class. If not, take some other AP -- but I wouldn't let your ranking be more important than your intellectual development. I don't think Harvard would caount it against you if you dropped from 1st to 3rd b/c you wanted more calculus!

Hey - I for one took AP Stats intead of going on to college math (I took AP Calc AB frosh year, BC soph year). I did it for the same reason you're considering it - keeping a higher QPA with less effort because college classes aren't weighted as highly. I got into Harvard EA, and this semester I'm taking, among other classes, Linear Algebra - a college-level class that is weighted "Academic" (not even honors!) in my school.
