What movies can you happily watch over and over again?

Most of mine have already been mentioned here, but have to add a few more:
Slapshot
Clerks
The Unforgiven
The Quiet Man - wife and I watch every St. Patrick’s Day

Not sure if these have been mentioned yet, but:

Big Chill

Steel Magnolias

Master and Commander

Quest for Fire
Local Hero
Love Leads the Way
Gran Torino
Seabiscuit

*Wizard of Oz *- really a very funny movie. The Cowardly Lion has the best lines.

*The Enemy Below *- I know, it’s a war movie, but there is something about the mental chess match between the German submarine captain (Curt Jurgens) and the American destroyer captain (Robert Mitchum) that always grabs me.

Casablanca - Who is Ilsa really in love with? Plus Claude Rains as Renault is just fabulous.

I will stop everything if a good movie from the 30’s and 40’s is on - I grew up 70’s in Chicago area and they were on every weekend. Philadelphia Story, Shop Around the Corner, Front Page and My Girl Friday are particular favorites. Ii am also a sucker for any Jane Austin or Shakespeare adaptation (including the teen versions - Easy A, Clueless, and 10 Things I Hate About You), O’ Brother Where Art Thou?, Mean Girls, Star Wars, Chocolat, Fiddler on the Roof,

My husband drops everything for any James Bond flick, Clint Eastwood movie or any musical - quite a dicotomy, but between us the range of movies we will sit together and watch is pretty diverse.

Dum dum de dum dadada dum de dum
Can’t believe The Magnificent Seven hasn’t gotten a mention yet!
Field of Dreams, Pretty Woman, Princess Bride, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Big Chill, Little Miss Sunshine, Forbidden Planet, Kiss of the Spider Woman
I’ve seen them so often, and I always mean to just watch for a few minutes…

Anyone from the NY area remember “Million Dollar Movie?” They would show the same movie every day - twice on the weekends - for a week. In the days before DVRs, cable and being able to buy or rent a movie, it was a movie addicts dream!

Oh yes forgot Sabrina with Audrey hepburn.

Pride and Prejudice (American version with Keira Knightly)
Something’s Got to Give
The English Patient
Lord of the Rings
Love Actually

So many people have mentioned “Love Actually”. I’m sure I’ve never seen that before, guess I will have to now!

-It Happened One Night
-Sound of Music
-Dirty Dancing
-Pretty Woman
-Ghost(my all time favorite tear jerker movie)
-Sleepless in Seattle
-Fiddler on the Roof
-West Side Story
-Barefoot in the Park
-Evergreen(wait, that’s the song, what’s the movie name??)
-The Sting
-Officer and a Gentleman

Streisand’s A Star is Born.

1) Fiddler on the Roof (love the music, favorite line- “Of course, it’s no shame to be poor, but it’s no great honor, either”)

2) The Birdcage (favorite line-“I’m 50 years old, there’s only one place I call home and it’s because you’re there”)

3) tie History of the World Part 1/ Young Frankenstein

Top Gun, A Few Good Men, An Officer and a Gentleman, Remember The Titans, Sweet Home Alabama, Dirty Dancing, The Breakfast Club, Pride & Prejudice, Princess Bride, Goonies, John Adams mini series.

My husband will watch Rudy, Behind Enemy Lines and Band of Brothers anytime they are on TV. I’m sick of Rudy.

I remember the Million Dollar Movie. Channel 5. “Tara’s Theme” from Gone With the Wind was the theme music.

Caught a lot of classic flicks on that.

And the Five O’Clock Movie had “Syncopated Clock” was its theme music.

^^Thanks, NJTheatremom: That’s it! And with a screen name like yours, I’d figure you’d know the answer! ;)

Gladiator.

And Lawrence of Arabia is on tonight!

Mask and Almost Famous. I’ve seen each one several times and if I click by (and I don’t anymore since we ditched cable and TV in general awhile back), I’ll always watch them again.

The Wizard of Oz too.

Been away on business, so I haven’t read everything. My favorites:

Animal House
Blues Brothers

Pretty Woman
Legally Blonde
Miss Congeniality

I’ll add Flashdance to my list too.
