What new AP Courses would you like to see?

There's no way they could have AP Nietzche. No two people read the same meaning out of his longer passages. He intentionally contradicts himself and adds in opposing views to intentionally throw off the reader.

AP Political Theory, as opposed to just gov and comp poli.
AP Algebra (or any math not calc-based or stats, but not geometry, which leaves algebra)
AP Pre-Calc, since its a requirement at some colleges
AP Human Anatomy
AP Etymology (prep for SATS at the same time!)
AP Economic Theory

Philosophy would be so hard to standardize, if it is just based on fact and not interpretation, wouldn't that a. be boring and b. defeat the purpose of philosophy?

jbruner it's called sarcasm

That's kinda included in AP 3D Studio Art. I'm actually doing a series of necklaces for my concentration next year. Unless you're talking about the history of it, or its uses/meaning in different cultures, or something like that. That would be a cool class. I would totally take it.

Other ones I like/would most likely take:
AP East Asian Studies (or History, whatever)
AP Music Performance (as others have mentioned)
AP Mythology
AP World Religions
AP Gemology (though this probably wouldn't happen)
AP Film (like a lit class/exam, only with film media)

AP Greek Mythology
AP Ancient History
AP ORGO!!!!!!!
AP Socio
AP Anthro
like any college 101 course should be available as an AP

DEFINITELY:
- AP Philosophy (several years back, my bro's very intellectual friend was implying that they had one....I know clearly that CollegeBoard does not, but I think perhaps there may be (or used to have been?) an IB or other standardized test for the subject...? Not sure though.)
- AP World Religions
- AP Hebrew (aww man! Someone beat me to suggesting it! XD)
- AP Film (I think SilverandJade's idea to do it like a lit class/exam is excellent.)

LOL AP Nietzche...

As for AP Anthro....well.....is it just me, or does that sound like it might be quite a lot like AP Art History though? (Or maybe that's just how they teach it at my school!) It kinda seems like they'd run out of stuff to teach after a while, unless they went into human cultures....which is pretty much what you learn in Art History.

Then I think AP Food Science would be FANTASTIC....except what would they have for the exam?! o.O That'd be hard. CB would have to be pretty creative and really put on their thinking-caps, heh....;D

Creative Writing would also be good - as long as they made it an ELECTIVE, rather than an English class. Otherwise lots of people would take it just to escape from the normal English requirements, and would just submit a bunch of really lousy fanfics and junk o.O, rather than actually learning how to write as they'll have to in the real world...

In addition, I suggest just AP Medical Studies - basically, like starting medical school in high school :D. Learn all the basics, and so you can have a really strong background before you choose it as your major... Or, if you're still not sure if you want to be a doctor/hadn't really considered it, it can help you decide.

Oh yeah, and I agree with the suggestion of AP Drama. It's only fair, since they do have AP Studio Art (which I would DIE if they didn't have O.O...)

Great/creative idea, btw, to whoever posted this thread!! :D

Of course, knowing CollegeBoard....I bet that by the time our kids are in high school, they'll totally have as many available AP classes as the average university has majors o.O - seriously.

AP Military History
AP Ancient Civilizations
AP Spelling

My friend suggested AP Colors and Shapes

I suggest (with sincerity) AP Organic Chemistry or another advanced Chem (without anything to take senior year my Chem skills will get rusty!), AP Astrophysics (how I love it), and AP Latin.

AP geology
AP acting (performance-based)
AP musical theatre (performance-based)
AP singing (performance-based)
AP music performance (instrumental)

AP...Lunch.

AP Dancing (choice of classical, hip-hop, modern)
AP Military Science
AP Fashion
AP Sign Language
AP Cooking
AP Auto Shop
AP Flirting Tactics

there already is AP Latin...two different tests, actually. the only foreign language with two, i might add!

and i'm so screwed for one of them on fridayyyy woohoo

AP Military Science
AP Early Military History (Until 1375)
AP Military History 1375-1860
AP Military History 1860-Present
AP Elementary Analysis
Haha sorry I didn't realize AP Nietzsche was a joke!

"AP Algebra (or any math not calc-based or stats, but not geometry, which leaves algebra)
AP Pre-Calc, since its a requirement at some colleges"

Now you just want to dumb down the College Board and the meaning of AP. AP classes are intended for those people who truly excel in a subject (it is called Advanced Placement for a reason.....). AP Algebra or Precalc? Ha, what a joke. Hell even Calculus BC is considered to be an easy/introductory math course at many colleges.

AP Genetics

Another technology AP course besides computer science would be nice to see. Something like AP Engineering or AP Robotics would be great.

AP Philosphy, AP Organic Chemistry, and AP Collegeboard Abhorrence.

ap some kind of medicine thing

ap biochemistry
ap microbiology
ap philosophy
ap english--in the same format as other ap languages haha

AP invisible pink unicorn.
