I want to take the following exams, which I’m not currently taking an AP course for:
- Statistics
- Computer Science
- Physics C: Mech
- Physics C: E&M
- Macroeconomics
What high schools in NYC will let an outsider take these exams? Please please please let me know if you attend a school that has these exams, I have to register for them by March 7 according to the AP website.
@skieurope I’ve tried contacting like 10 different schools after getting a list from them. I’ve also tried contacting all of the Specialized High Schools in NYC and some prestigious schools like Horace Mann/Trinity.
Anyone, if you know a high school that lets outsiders take AP exams because you’ve done it there before, PLEASE PLEASE let me know. I’m dying calling all of these schools…
I think most schools maybe already done with sign ups for AP. I don’t think AP can regulate the schools on when kids can enroll
If you’re in NYC, maybe try some of the schools outside the city (i.e. Northern Jersey, Long Island, Westchester)?
I need to send out a message to every principal of a high school in NYC, or any general contact email for the school. Does the NYC DOE maintain a list of such emails?
Hi Underscoreone, I’m trying to figure out why you are so desperate to take some very expensive tests ($94 each) for classes that you didn’t take in school, and for classes your very good Specialized HS wouldn’t waive you into. First of all, your apps are already out. The decisions are most likely made or about to be made. Unless you claimed on your app that you took and got 5s on these tests, which no one in their right mind would do, I can’t for the life of me figure out why you are willing to send out a message to every NYC public school in an attempt to take tests that have no effect on your application at this point.
@harper3125 I want to skip intro courses when I go to college. Plus I just found out I was waitlisted (but that’s a secondary reason).
