What Opportunities does Math Present? What can you do with it after graduating with a bachelors of science mathematics or bachelors of arts for mathematics? Please dont say teaching.

For the n-th time, if your degree is well-rounded in terms of pure, applied and statistics courses (with a couple of essential computer science courses thrown in), there are many possible jobs. Anything that involves number crunching, modeling of processes, forecast. “Quant” jobs is one way to put it. Data analyst, scientist, research assistant, consultant, methodologist… there are many names and titles. And, yes, teaching is an option (especially if you took pure math courses almost exclusively). A math major’s strengths are his or her critical thinking, problem solving and abstract conceptualization skills. That’s what you want to sell to potential employers.

I love math. Yeah Im talking two semesters of computer science classes. My goal is to teach math, become an actuary, cryptography or work an insurance place then get a masters in Finance.
