hmm...actually i emphasised that it was a joke as much as i could, but i couldnt restrain myself from dissing 1600s (u know how much that "perfectionism" can get people het up...) ;)

lol i was kidding too! 1600s can joke you know :p I mean we're perfect right ;)

perfect my a**.... "imperfection is life's perfection." - quote of the day in my AP Lit. class

Whatever the rate is, it's significantly higher than their overall admittance rate (~11%).

Right--but ED? I read in another forum something about Princeton's taking a LOT of 1600 scorers early.
[/quote]
Actually, I think the opposite is true. They take more high-stat people regular because that's when the rankings come in. Early, they're looking for more kids with defined hooks.
Anyway, I hope that's true =/

ironically it's probably harder to get in to HYP with a 1600 than a 1590 -- they want to pad their 1600 rejection rates to make them look ridiculously selective.

Yea but I think they can boost their selectivity by also rejecting 1590's and 1580's, 1570's etc. So once you get above a certain score, you're pretty much treated equally.

i think everyone above like a 1500 is basically the same maybe even upper 1400s but if ur a 1500 ur pretty much solid =P

awwwww sucks to have my SAT score

whatever im still cool

u have a 1600? CONGRATS! i think 1600s are valued much more with international students. :D

that makes me feel a lot better:)

i wish i had a 1600. stupid "washington woodward" passage with its falsely emboldened options!

i think domestic students still like the perfect score...it is only a select number of academic snobs who have given it a bad rap. all that crap about 1600's being study monkeys with no lives and no ecs. it's a gross generalization.

side note: i forgot to dedicate my 600th post to pton...unlike silmon, sempitern, etc...i am a bad bad pton poster. :(

i've never met anyone with a 1,600 before. i wonder what that means

it means they got lucky. though i read an article about a boy who took it FIVE TIMES just because he wanted a perfect score...his money, his time...

i've heard of someone who went to my school a few years ago who got a 1,600 on her third try after two tries in the low 1400s

oops...misread your post :)

60 second rule

haha no worries

i wonder if such a large gain in points is reduced by the concept of diminishing returns.

That's so stupid... I kept getting 1570+ and some 1600s on my practice tests. When I took the real ones, I got 1450, then 1470 or 1480. So I just gave up. I guess he kept taking SATs because, like I, he knew he was capable of getting 1600, but does it really matter all that much?
