Grading systems in Europe are very different. I don’t know about Nina2332’s situation but, the school I went to in Europe followed the IB Grading scale. When I came here they messed up and basically said 7(which is the highest in the grading scale)= A, 6=B, 5=C
Complete BS considering 7’s are very hard to get. My GPA is screwed because of that. You also have to take into account the difficulty of the classes.

Looking at Nina2332 situation, her grading system was different and her classes were difficult. I believe they will take this into account.

If your counselor talked about your situation, I feel that it is unneeded. I don’t think it will do you any harm, but I honestly don’t know.

P.S I attached an Education Interruption letter to my applications because I have attended 3 high schools.

You could have your French school records formally evaluated by [World Education Services - International Education Intelligence](http://www.wes.org/) or a similar organization so that you have a better understanding of whether or not your grades there are “good enough”. If you had graduated from a French school, many US colleges and universities would have required that you have that kind of evaluation done.
