What salutations to use in a letter to the admissions committee?

How do I start and end a letter to an admissions committee?

Dear Admissions Committee? (lol)
To whom it may concern?
What is the proper salutation?

Sincerely?
Regards?
What is the proper opposite-of-salutation-that-goes-at-the-end-of-the-letter?

And if it matters, it's actually an email, not a letter

Thanks.

Dear Admissions,

I LOVE YOU ALL JUST ACCEPT ME PLEASE! NOOO!

Thank you for blah-blah-la-la-laaaaa

Sincerely,

Yeah-You-Know-Me!

That’s how I do it.

I just put Dear Office of Undergraduate Admissions,

Sincerely

“YO WAZZUP DOG”

On second thought, what lyl926 said will suffice.

I will **** your **** if you let me in!!!

Those are actual Stars I put them I did not write actual words!

Why are you writing this letter? How you address it may depend on your reason.

“To whom it may concern” is fine. You might be able to not use a salutation, and just start in on your letter. I did that with my gc letter (we homeschool) - “It is my pleasure to recommend …” My d was accepted at every school where she applied.

The end of the letter is called the closing and “sincerely” works fine there.

I use Dear Sir or Madam and end with sincerely ><

I always end with Sincerely.

Sometimes if I know the name, I just do with “Mr/Ms/Mrs _______,” with no dears. If I don’t know the name, I usually go with “Dear Sir or Madam,” which is what my teachers use in recommendations, because “To whom it may concern” sounds too distant.

Dear Admissions if you don’t know the name. You’re not really writing to the whole committee unless you’re really addressing them.

Always end with Sincerely.

Followed by your name.

Don’t know why Secret Asian Man didn’t approve of this.

Uh…what?
