I am a Chinese high school student .I would like to attend university in the United States.what should I do?
By the way ,my English is not good.I don't know how to improve it,do you have any advices?
Thank you!

You can start by giving us a lot more information about yourself. What grade are you in? When do you graduate from secondary school? What sort of grades do you have? What is your intended field of study? Do you have geographic preferences (East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, South etc...)? Do you have financial restrictions or can your family afford the full cost of college?

You should visit the International Student Forum. You can reach it by clicking on "Discussion Home" in the upper left of this screen and then scrolling down.

Thank you for help.
I'm in grade 11.i will graduate from secondary school next summer. The courses in US is different from that in China. So i dou't know how to describe my study,i just can say my study is good but not the best in my class. And i'm in Fujian Province,i don't know if you have ever been told about the place,it's a not bad place.
And i can play piano, though i'm not good at it.Will it be advantage to me when i apply to study in US?
My English is not good ,i started learning English from middle school. If there is any wrong sentence, please tell me.Thank you!

happymom offers excellent advice.

I'm sorry, but I have to say that ALL of your sentences are faulty. As a non-native speaker of English, you will have to take TOEFL in order to apply to most US schools. Each school sets its own standards. I suggest that you take the TOEFL exam and evaluate your score. You may find that working on your written and spoken English is the most constructive thing that you can do now to improve your chances of admission.

Most US schools are interested in extracurricular activities, but playing the piano is unlikely to help you significantly in admissions unless you spend a lot of time practicing and performing.

Thank you!
