What subjects to pick for junior and senior yr??

So I have to make my 4yr plan for high school, and I am thinking about going into architecture or engineering. Besides all the basic classes like Physics, Chemistry, Calculus, and Statistics, what electives should I take to align myself with getting into engineering or architectural school?

I also am looking forward to applying to Harvard, so thats why I posted it here

If you’re aiming for single digit acceptance rate schools, in terms of course selection, the thing to focus on is having the highest GPA possible with a course load that your guidance department will check the “most rigorous” box on the college report

Beyond that, course selection is more about what you enjoy. If you have a choice between a class on James Joyce’s Ulysses, and a pottery workshop, you shouldn’t start thinking about which one makes you sound like a better architect, you should take the course you’re more interested in.

Who knows, you might find that Ulysses class a blast and decide you’d rather be a comp lit major. Lots can change from sophomore year in HS.

Have fun, pursue subjects you’re passionate about, and don’t fixate on any single digit acceptance rate school.

I would not overthink this. And try to avoid too much premature career planning. High school is a great time to explore interests, outside of those required classes you mentioned. Also be aware that for a selective school, admission is often not related to academics, which must meet a baseline for consideration. After that it is really about waht you can contribute to the class. Make sure to pursue interests and talents beyond the classroom as well. Enjoy high school !
