Me too! Ahh!!!
@brassarrow, I now must go and see if Hotchkiss has a youtube account! I didn’t think of that!
I keep rewatching my “Welcome!” video. I must’ve shown it to my family only about a thousand times, and watched it myself only a million times.
Everyone looks older than me, though. I feel like I look much younger than I am. I’m also pretty short I wonder if I’ll have grown THAT much by next fall…
How would y’all feel if somebody requested to follow you who had your school and class in their bio?
@mackenzie1002 I just discovered that Exeter doesn’t have summer reading , at least according to this year’s parent handbook. I don’t know about other schools. Guess I can’t be too excited about a summer reading list that doesn’t exist . . . It’s not like I have trouble finding stuff to read over the summer, though
@Ravenclaw3 I know a few people who will be my upperclassmen, but I want to know my classmates! Urgh. Consider not having summer reading an advantage - now you can read what you want at your own pace. If you want, you might look at other schools’ reading lists to see what they think is good to have read by the start of school.
When do we take our roommate questionnaire and plan our classes and whatnot? We won’t have to wait until orientation, will we? I dunno if I can wait that long…
I’ve desperately been trying to keep myself busy until revisits, but I’ve just been “busy” with perusing Deerfield’s course planning guidelines… still pretty confused about possible 4-year course plans, though.
@woodcal03 I find having summer reading nice because it’s something you know you can talk about at the beginning of a schoolyear. Thanks for the suggestion on looking at what other schools have people read, though; do you know where they might post it on their websites?
AAAAH I just realized I can finally start dorm room pinterest boards!!! I made myself wait until I got accepted, but I totally forgot until now!!! The rest of my night is booked.
If you want to find all the alums and current students, go to your school’s instagram account and search through the posts’ comments. It’s mostly alums and students who are commenting. I’ve found so many students who were tagged in the comments.
You’ll make up for it with the vast amount of reading you’ll do in the school year. Exeter is not unique in not requiring summer reading. Some do, some don’t.
And you will also have LOTS to talk about when you arrive.
A dorm room Pinterest! I must do that! what a great idea.
Ahhhh! That was just what I was thinking as well! Where are you attending @FunintheSun1211 ?
I’m pretty sure Hotchkiss but going to the Choate revisits to be sure… I loved Choate when I visited, but Hkiss seems like a better fit at this point
@brassarrow I’ve done that, but wouldn’t it come off as stalker-ish? lol
@Ravenclaw3 I know McCallie puts theirs in the academics tab. You also have a bunch of sources who could tell you what they’re reading on here if you need others.
@brassarrow Have you been following them afterward or just stalking their accounts? I feel kinda weird requesting to follow other students at my school, so like… how have they responded to you?
@woodcal03 I found one current student who I stalked for a little (but didn’t like anything or ask to follow, that may be creepy…) B-)
@FunintheSun1211 Lol! That’s my dilemma right now…
