What to bring to Bs- things often forgotten

Hi everyone,

I am headed to bs on the east coast this year As a freshman and I have seen master lists of what I SHOULD bring, but what are some thing that I need to bring that are often forgotten on lists…thx :)))

Where are you going and what year?

Chapstick. You’ll need it for the winter.

99.9% of the stuff you might need you can always buy. Don’t sweat it and enjoy your time at home before school starts. Spend time with family and friends and go be carefree before the studying starts.

Pillows are often forgotten.

My kids’ school actually provided new pillows every year but if you are at all picky about your pillow style, you might want to bring your own.

Pillows are bulky for check-in luggage so we bought one at a Target store near the airport.
We ordered toiletries on-line at Target and chose In Store pick up (near the airport as there is no Target near school) - bodywash/shampoo, shaving cream, bottle of hand sanitizer, toothpaste, AA/AAA batteries, tissue box, febreeze spray, Wet Ones wipes, papertowel, Tide detergent Pods, box of denture cleaners for (orthodontic) retainer, 16-pack poweraide drink.
Store pickup orders can be done at Bed,Bath/Beyond, Bestbuy, etc.
We bought locally - wastebasket, small/hand vacuum, hangers, extension/surge protector cords, small cups, desk lamp at the same Target as well.

We packed from home - comforter cover, fitted & flat sheets, pillow case and towel.
We ordered and shipped to school, a down comforter and a feather bead (4-inch) I think.

Small phillips and regular screwdrivers are useful to have.

I’ll also add that an Amazon Prime account for the family can be a good idea. You can order just about anything - food, toiletries, you name it - and for the flat fee, you get unlimited free 2 day shipping for a year. It’s good for replenishing dorm room snacks, school supplies, etc. during the school year in addition to beginning of the year purchases.

They have a reduced rate program Prime Student program but I’m not sure if its just for college students or if BS students can use it as well. It might just require an .edu email. It’s free for the first 6 months and 1/2 off after that.

I’ll vouch for what doschicos said. Prime is very helpful. Any .edu email will do! Try activating the free trial right before school starts, so you can order textbooks/supplies at reasonable prices.

Your favorite water bottles.
(just packed them)

Yup. We have Amazon prime.
