What to Bring to First Classes

SO @radialcar, you’re saying that you have or haven’t always had a lot of work by the first week of class

Chances are you aren’t gonna do much the first day so a notebook and pen/pencil is usually sufficient.

Make sure you check your campus email or Blackboard/Moodle in case the prof has posted anything about expectations etc. While most classes spend the first day going over the syllabus and doing icebreakers/short intro to the course material, some professors like to start with a bang and expect that you will have already completed some reading for the course.

I’m going to disagree with the people who said not to bring the textbooks. For most classes, you can probably safely leave them at home, but you never know…

I’m bumping with another, more specific question: what do you all use for water? I don’t drink anything else, so it would be convenient to have something to fill up at the water fountain or w/e, and stick in my bag. I figure this is semi-common, so does anyone have any suggestion for this? An empty plastic drink bottle, a Nalgene or some specific model or type of model, etc?

Thanks.

I use a Brita water bottle and a liter-sized water bottle.

Rubbermaid filtered water bottle. Love it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn’t even realized filtered water bottles existed!
