I enjoy working outdoors and have a passion about helping the environment. I don't care about the pay so I want to go for Environmental Science.

Problem: I'm 34 with a house, wife and son and a decent paying job so up and leaving is not an option.

There are 2 CC within range that I can attend and one offers only an associates in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering. I am not sure if just an associates is just going to cut it to get a job right away plus a little room for advancement wouldn't hurt from what I've been reading.

So.... there is a school also nearby that offers a bachelors in Environmental Geochemical Science. Not exactly what I want but does not in any way disinterest me. They also offer Biology, Biochem, Chem, and Geology to throw in there.

Now, what exactly should I be going for if I want to work in the field of Environmental Science? I've done a lot of research on this but I came across this site and I was hoping to get a little more input on what I should do considering my age(34) which isn't too old but I don't think I'll be going for my masters or phd anytime soon.

Should I go with associates in ES or ER.

Take the local CC courses that only will transfer to the school with Geochem and get my bachelors. Then maybe minor in Environmental Science at my local CC.

Go for my associates at my local CC in ES then do an online bachelors program for ES.

Hopefully you can save a hair on my head because I'm tired of thinking what to do....
