What to do when Blue Book runs out?!

What do you do when your practice tests in Blue book run out?!? I bought my book the summer of my freshmen year (the book's copyright is 2004), didn't use much practice tests but this past two years I've used a lot of the practice questions and I fear that as I start doing full length practice tests I will run out.

What do you do? I assume that the blue book isn't updated every year with new tests.

you assume correctly :) there are some extra tests available from the college board's online service. after that, you can use the tests from the old 10RS book, omitting analogies and comparative quantity questions.

a lot of people use the PR book or another 3rd-party book of tests, but i prefer to use only authentic CB tests, myself.

Hi xitammarg--wondered what you meant by th e 10RS book? Is that the red CB book? We are in the same boart as Celita--son did almost all the blue book tests this summer...not realizing that was about it for real tests.

Thanks for any thoughts.

I think he meant the "10 Real SATs" books that were out before Collegeboard created the New SAT and the "Blue Book". They are older with tests from the old SAT type with analogies and Verbal/Math sections only.

That seems like an option I'd say. If there are any other ideas please post.

Thanks xitammarg :)

yup, that's the one.

have you guys done the tests available from the CB web site?

The free ones? I don't think son has done those (I'll ask him).

I'm just leery of getting the CB online program because I don't think a computer test replicates the physical environment of the SAT (paper test) and I see that as a disadvantage over the blue book, etc.

Maybe it's worth it just to get those extra six, though.

i agree with that, but (if memory serves) you can print out the tests and take them on paper. (can anybody verify that?)

yes, you can take the test both online and in reality with printed papers.

How many practice tests are for free? For I ended up only finding ONE of those. Everybody is talking about somewhat 4 or 6, dunno. Could you help me with that?

so im new, and just wondering, the "blue book" that everyone talks about is the book that the College Board sells?

yes, here's my advice: Be a kid. Run, play football, soccer, manhunt. Don't worry about oh oooohhhh yeah because I got a 1990 on my SAT I'm going to make 40% more money then that guy. Chill dude. Chill

To Sorusch: I think rest of the tests are under Official SAT Online Course and are not free.

i finished the blue book, and i have been doing the book with 11 tests from princeton review. imo, its quite accurate. stay away from sparknotes, though, its a waste of money. its not at all like the real test.
