I have failed my AP history class this year and thus cannot take AP history next year.
(failed as in C, sorry for confusion)
Also taking English honors because I have a C in English 10 HN currently.

So my coursework for next year (I'm going to be a Junior) looks like this hopefully:
BC Calc
AP Chem
Physics HN
English 11 HN
US/VA History HN
AP Environmental Science (if counselor lets me)
Computer Systems (post-AP)

Three AP._. I wanna cry...just because of peer pressure (everyone else taking 4 or 5, even 6)

I wish it looked like this, but I think I would kill myself:
BC Calc
AP Chem
Physics HN
AP Lang
US History HN
AP Environmental Science
Computer Systems

Thats why i really don’t like schools that offer like 20 AP’s, it pressures you to take all 20. My school only offers 5, I’m taking all 5 and I still have equal chances at admissions to the Ivy League. Obviously if you could only take 5, they wouldn’t ask you why you didn’t take 20, but if you took 10 and were allowed to take 20 they’ll question you.

By the way, 3 AP’s is barely nothing if you’re aiming for the Ivy League. If you can’t handle the stress and homework of AP courses, then Harvard will be a million times tougher. Ask your counselor about how to juggle them, or MAN UP!

Haha I asked a teacher why my school offers NO AP’s and she said it’s because colleges can’t hold us to that standard of twenty million AP’s. I guess that’s true, but I’d still like to take an AP course or two (or 5.)

Because you’ve answered mine, i’ll answer yours too.
Hey, it’s not about the amount of AP classes you take. do you think you’ll be Acing all subject for sure? It’s better to raise your GPA higher with those C’s you have right now. Besides, I’m sure aiming for top-notch college, and i want to encourage you by saying I have friends attending ivy leagues next year& got in Columbia with 1900 SAT and 4 AP’s total out of 20 AP classes at school. He was asian too haha anyways GL!

My school has over 20 AP classes and last time I checked I never felt pressured (peer or otherwise) to take any of them. I took the ones I wanted to. I wasn’t able to take all of them, but more or less I was able to get what I came for.

OP, I suggest you fight for some more APs. 3 for junior year is a small amount.
