<p>I'll be attending TAMU in the fall of 2014, but I'm stuck on what to major in. I've laid out some pros and cons of what I'm thinking about, and hope you'll help be a part of the decision making process!</p>
<p>Chemistry BSc-> PhD
Pros:
1.) Can be a professor/lecturer
2.) I really like chemistry</p>
<p>Cons
1.) Pay sucks, especially if I don't get a Phd
2.) I'd like to teach at A&M because I love the town that it's in</p>
<p>Geophysics
Pros:
1.) Pays very well
2.) Good job opportunities
3.) Opportunity to get into the oil & gas business in Houston</p>
<p>Cons
1.) I'm not really sure if I'd enjoy geology, it's hard to know</p>
<p>Civil Engineering
Pros
1.) Decent pay
2.) Good job placement</p>
<p>Cons
1.) I'm not sure how interested I'd be in the field</p>
<p>Chemical Engineering
Pros
1.) I like chemistry, although it isn't that much chemistry
2.) Amazing pay/ job opportunities</p>
<p>Cons
1.) Don't want to work in a refinery my whole life
2.) Major is really hard so I've heard</p>
