What to REALLY bring to college

First post on CC!
I printed the seven page packing list from Tech's website, and a lot of it makes sense. However, that is a LOT of stuff to bring in that tiny room, half of which I hear I will probably use sparingly. So, my question is: what item or items would you say are the most important to focus on and which ones should I skip? Thanks!

look at the list and divide it in half.

you can always bring more stuff during Thanksgiving Break! Just bring the necessary of the necessary.

You may find this thread from the Parents Forum helpful, listing things that were sent that were never used. Less is more. If you are not aware, you are eligible for a free Amazon Prime membership with your .edu email. It gives you free 2-day shipping for a year. Literally anything you might need from school supplies, bedding, storage, even snacks. Best of luck!

A tool set. I talked to a group of kids and they all said they used theirs. Guys and girls. First aid stuff.

Thanks for the link! I noticed that many on that general thread said they didn’t use their printer. I’m curious if kids at Tech tend to use their personal printers or if they use them at the library or other places.

I always used my printer everyday. A lot of course notes are provided in some classes and need to be printed off not to mention assignments. Definitely need a printer.
